California State Senator Anna Caballero, one of the ten professionals featured in the documentary short film The Migrant Child Farmworkers – Now High-Profile Professionals©, narrated by Xolo Maridueña (star of Blue Beetle and Cobra Kai), supports the farm workers and agricultural economy of our state as she explains here:
I proudly joined my colleagues in the California Legislative Central Coast Caucus in condemning the recent ICE raids in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. These raids don’t just harm families—they destabilize entire communities and jeopardize the future of our agricultural economy.
Farmworkers are the backbone of the Central Coast and our state. I stand with them, and I’m calling for an immediate end to these destructive and unjust actions. We must protect the dignity of our immigrant communities and demand accountability.
I’m grateful that Anna had the opportunity to become a State Senator of the fourth largest economy in the world. As a child born to a family of copper miners in Arizona, her path was not easy. With lots of grit and hard work, she graduated from UCLA law school, became the first female Mayor elected in the 126-year history of the City of Salinas, and the first Latina elected to represent the 28th Assembly District. Now she can use her passion and position to fight for a big piece of the California economy and the hard-working people who make it happen.
